My mission statement as a person and a counselor is to see, honor, and call forward the full human-ness of each individual I engage with; that deep Self that lies deeper than any behavior, belief, or experience.
My approach is person-centered, and eclectic, meaning I draw on a variety of modalities to work alongside my clients to create safety, growth, and healing. I believe my clients are the experts on their own lives, and I am here to provide support, reflection, tools, and care. I am most drawn to modalities such as somatic experiencing, sensorimotor psychotherapy, and internal family systems (IFS). Through my internship I will be receiving supervision specializing in CBT and DBT, and I will be receiving consultation focused on trauma work through the remainder of my graduate program.
I have been a registered yoga teacher for over a decade, and wholeheartedly believe that the body is a powerful ally in mental and emotional healing and growth. I also spent 12 years working for various different wilderness schools providing nature connection mentoring, and leading coming-of-age and rites-of-passage wilderness trips. The land can be a profound mirror and supporter for the inner work done in therapy.
I work with individuals ages 13 and up. I believe strongly in the client having agency in the therapeutic process, and will do as much as I can to promote collaboration, and co-creating a therapeutic space that meets your needs.
“Just because no one else can heal or do your inner work for you doesn’t mean you can, should, or need to do it alone.”
