As a child and adolescent therapist, I utilize you and your child’s strengths to improve emotional, cognitive and behavioral functioning. I believe that every child has the potential to create a fulfilling life and future with the right support. I use your child’s interests to foster a connection and relationship in counseling. Whether it be through play, art, music, or the outdoors, I want to encourage individuality and confidence while learning how to improve overall functioning.

I specialize in youth 12 & under and the families that love them.  I have specific experience and training with youth and young people with symptoms of autism spectrum, sensory processing difficulties, attention deficits and disruptive behaviors. I take a evidence-based systems approach, collaborating with caregivers, teachers, and other significant adults in the child’s life to identify barriers the child is facing and create a cohesive, consistent and individualized treatment plan. My goal is to help you and your child find balance in your lives.

Kara Meyer is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS), Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S) and is trained in Child Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for children and adolescents as well as certified in AutPlay Therapy.

Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor™ and RPT-S™ are trademarks identifying credentials exclusively issued by the Association for Play Therapy, Inc.
