Is your child having a hard time? Are they angry or agitated? Are their emotional reactions much bigger than the situation? Are they sad and shutting you out? Do they operate in extremes? Do you feel like there is a wall between you and your child and you cannot connect? If so, I am here to help.
I am passionate about helping kids overcome struggles, traumatic experiences, false self beliefs, triggers, and stuck feeling states that impact their everyday functioning. These challenges may be showing up as anxiety, attention problems, emotional dysregulation, and behavior challenges.
I provide a client centered, holistic, integrative approach to counseling, which means I consider each client’s mind, soul, body, physical health, culture, and life experiences. Whatever they are struggling with, your loved one will be received with acceptance, compassion, and unconditional positive regard. I am affirming of clients identifying as LGBTQIA+.
The therapeutic relationship your child and I build will provide them a safe space for healing and change to take place through play, talk, movement, Lifespan Integration, and other complementary approaches.
I have experience working with adolescents and adults in an inpatient eating disorder facility, as well as adults struggling with mental health disorders, substance abuse, and homelessness. I obtained a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwest University, and hold a Mental Health Counselor Associate license.
In addition to being a counselor, I have a family, which includes a husband, a 15 year old son and 11 year old daughter. I have been in your seat taking my own kids to counseling. My son has ADHD and it has been a challenging road to walk, but also so worth the changes that came out of counseling.
